About This Demonstration Environment

Welcome to the sovereign digital prototype for the Tall Ship Channel. This environment showcases the architectural viability of a completely cloud-independent maritime broadcasting network.

Traditional Tall Ship Fleet Regatta

The Sovereign Architecture Showcase

This platform is not hosted on commercial public clouds. It is a live demonstration of a decentralized, self-hosted media ecosystem designed to maintain absolute data sovereignty. By blending advanced open-source hypervisors with physical maritime assets, this demo proves that high-definition, global media delivery can remain entirely under the control of the shipowner and broadcaster.

The Sovereign Stack

The backend of this network runs entirely on self-managed Proxmox VE nodes. Routing is handled natively via Nginx Proxy Manager, with DNS resolved locally through Technitium, proving that Big Tech dependencies are obsolete for modern broadcasting.

Dual Operational Bases

To ensure failover and geographic resilience, the digital infrastructure is distributed across two primary operational hubs: our estate in Normandy, France, and our maritime port base in Harlingen, Netherlands, securely bridged by WireGuard VPN tunnels.

Floating Media Hubs

This demo highlights the integration of physical vessels into the digital network. Specifically, the Lady Ellen—with its unique U-boat steel hull and off-grid Victron power matrix—serves as a mobile broadcast node, beaming regatta coverage directly to this sovereign platform.

Operational Entities

This platform, along with all associated physical merchandise, mobile applications, and the forthcoming Tall Ship Magazine print publication, is managed exclusively by the core corporate entities:

  • tallshipchannel.com Ltd. (Digital & Media Operations)
  • Rederij Vrieling Waterman (Shipowner & Fleet Management)

Please note: This environment is currently in a demonstration phase. The prominent red "DEMO" watermark signifies that certain features (such as live video ingestion and real-time database querying) are simulated for presentation purposes.
